BB Rocker Covers

Im looking for a set of original rocker covers for my 1971 LS5 Chevelle . There are lots on ebay but my question Is how to tell original from aftermarket . If Im not mistaken I think the original should have drippers and the L/S cover should have a slight angle depression for clearance , but I think the repos have this also . Any help appreciated .

Re: BB Rocker Covers

There will be NO slight angle depression on the driver's side cover. There is also clips on the covers for TCS,etc.

Re: BB Rocker Covers

Chevy had well over 100 diffreant B.B. valve covers Most are year specific and can change by engine hp and K19 or not. And for the most part aftermarket repros are a generic versions of all of them.

Yeah, whenever I need to identify a valve cover, that's where I turn.
Crane makes the best, bar none. I still prefer to restore oem valve covers but they're getting hard to come by.

I couldn't find originals either but these were what I bought and am pleased with them. Has the drippers and no indent for the brake booster.

Quite a bit of difference between those and the crane valve cover. 65-72 had indents in the valve covers on chevelles. The indent was different depending upon the year. Those appear to be fron China and obvious to most Chevelle guys.
