Question Best place to order driveshaft

I want to replace my driveshaft but would really like to get a quality replacement. This is for my 65 2 dr wagon. Thanks in advance for any help.

A local shop would be best and probably the least expensive. Lots of internet shops with good reputations as well. Dennys, Inland Empire, Mark Williams and many more.

Re: Best place to order driveshaft

I had a great experience with a steel shaft from Denny's, tried numerous things to cure a vibration including having a shaft balanced and another shaft made, Denny's did the trick 100%, I was a happy camper for sure. Sorry 66 Chevelle 4 speed car.

Just had a 3.5" 1350 shaft made by Driveshaft Specialist. Very happy with the quality and customer service! Based on the service, price, and quality (100% USA sourced parts and materials) I'll use them for my next project as well.

Re: Best place to order driveshaft

I agree with all the above, I know who NOT to go with in my locale and they're supposed to be good, looked like a 5 yr old finished mine, then they called and said my Toyota shaft was done...? but Iv only done 1 light burn out with it, still holding my breath, use somebody like already suggested, just my 2 cents

That is about 15 minutes from my sons house. Maybe I'll plan a visit to him about the time I need a driveshaft.

I took the family to Disneyland once because I was purchasing a 12 bolt rear close by the park

I've got a 3" steel shaft From Denny's. Maybe not the cheapest, but they make a very nice part.

Re: Best place to order driveshaft

Denny's Driveshaft - without hesitation.....everything they do is top quality - from choosing the right components (NOS or not for example), helping to measure, the quality of the product of course, and even the way the product is packed and shipped. May be some out there as good, but none better!

I used Denny's and liked the fact that they didn't oversell even though I was willing to spend the money.

If your wagon is a cruiser and not a racer, I'd just go with a local reputable driveline shop. Denny's, Inland, and Mark Williams are nice, but are probably not required and very expensive for a daily cruiser, imho. (I went with a MW 4" Aluminum bonded, beautiful piece, but I went that route because of my DS length and rpm range for safety.)

Thumbs up Re: Best place to order driveshaft

Think I'll try Denny's and go from there. Thanks to everyone for the input.

Red face Re: Best place to order driveshaft

Was taking measurements for the new driveshaft and found play in the U joints. I overlooked replacing them for some reason. Anyway changed the joints and still vibrates at about 55 and up. I'll check the rear end one more time but I think the cure is a new driveshaft.

Re: Best place to order driveshaft

Have you ruled out the tires and wheels csusing the vibrations?
