Which brings a question up. I know you are not Keilser but one good thing they allowed is up to 2 years to start warranty. If your in the middle of a restoration and you need tranny to fit test for floors etc. It could easily take that long. When you ordered the drive shaft and it was delivered thats when their warranty started. Which made sense because thats when youd be driving it. According to what your saying as soon as the tranny is shipped the warranty starts. Well if its in the middle of the restoration how can the car be driven to see if anything is actually wrong with it?
No problem.

Correct, any warranties provided by KEI expired when they did. Tech assistance and more is ALWAYS available to KEI customers. If anyone is experiencing installation issues or mechanical problems, do not hesitate to call us.

As for the warranty delay, I agree this was a valuable option and we're meeting this afternoon to discuss it. I'm pushing for it.

Not true. The SS700 was a Keisler modifed LGT700 5 speed produced by Legend Gear and Transmission. The trans is still made by Legend with more shift location options. It is available at http://www.legendgt.com .

Liberty purchased the rights to some perfect fit products but apparently there must be a gray area as to who is making what. Liberty's is and has been for a long time one of Tremec's Elite dealers. You can expect kits to be offered from them using Tremec TKO units in the near future.

Thanks,

Paul Cangialosi

OK Thanks for posting that ...........makes more sense as I was sure Liberty still on tract to bring out kits ....... Since they reasonably close I have used Liberty for upgrades/ mods to my Tremec a few times and they do things right, never a disappointment with service and or knowledge

I love it.

Paul, I do not disagree with any of your statements. Silver Sport Transmissions produces and sells the Keisler version of the Tremec conversion kits and Craig is developing his own versions. It's a win for both sides.

As far as the SS700 goes, well, I can't get into that just yet. Just remember that our engineer, Dick McCord, designed that transmission.

Glad you love it. If you recall there was a big annoucement on the Keisler Website and in the news letters about Craig at Libertys purchasing intellectual property in regards to Keisler Perfect Fit kits. So you have to understand that is confusing.

In regards to Dick Mccord designing the LGT700. I agree with you. But lets get real here. The LGT700 is basically a 5 speed version of the T56. Granted Mr. McCord worked for Borg Warner at the time the T56 was produced, he wasn't the sole engineer on the project. Technology developed by Ford back in the late 1970's such a single rail shifting mechanisms or composite lined synchro rings in the late 1970's from Borg Warner Germany are just a handful of items carried over into the T56 platform. Its just like the Muncie stuff out there. The basic platforms have been around for years and engineers make improvements, redesigns etc. Mr. McCord is a great asset to have and since the LGT700 really has nothing proprietary in its design I'm sure you guys will eventually create your own 5 speed version of a T56.

Thanks,

Paul Cangialosi

I left KEI long before the stuff hit the fan so to speak but I am aware of announcements that were made. I left 3 times in fact due to disagreements with his business practices, we all also know that SK wasn't cut from the best cloth of integrity.

Perpetuating a whizzing match about who owns what is pointless really. The drama is over and SST intends to do business in an entirely different way than KEI ever could.
