why did chevy install different size yokes on the differentials? the first 2.73 12 bolt had the regular 1310 u joint, swapped it to a factory 3.31 12 bolt open and it has the larger joi t so I needed the conversion u joint. Going to swap it out soon for a rebuilt 3.31 posi which was originally a 2.56 open and it's got the 1310 u joint again. jim
The actual U-joint size on the 454 Chevelle large differential yoke (9210) is a 1330. The driveshaft had 3R joints up front, and a 3R/1330 conversion joint at the rear.
well folks, pulled the diff this afternoon, the code is RU. according to the chevelle stuff, its possible it's a 454 rearend. unless that info has errors. jim
diff is dated C 17 1. I think it was 17 in the middle. jim
