Shift Cable Quality

Just thought I'd pass this along. Console auto floor shift cable quality is all over the map. If you buy the cheap Chinese stuff, you'll find that either the cable doesn't have enough throw length to shift all the way from low to park, or the cable has so much slop inside the sheath that you can't adjust it so the detents match up with the shift indicator. I found the cable must have at least 2 1/8" throw for proper TH400 operation. Some of the cheap ones will bind up when curved to the required angle. Original GM cable p/n 3956765 can be found on ebay but spendy. Anyway, I bought the ShiftWorks K100-30 cable, about 80 bucks. It's a nice piece with 2 1/2" of travel, solid movement within the sheath, and no binding when bent up.
