Started t56 magnum swap on 2nd gen camaro

Well it's finally stated. Got the th400 pretty much out. Just need to lower it but it shouldn't take much longer.
Interior and exhaust are out.
Spark plugs are out so I'm ready to dial indicate the bell housing as that'll be the next step. Fingers crossed its within spec.

What's the common thought on the fit of T56 into a 2nd gen Camaro, obviously they still weren't using huge transmissions in the early 70's. And, you've taken the interior out so you plan on modifications?

I put a T56 (working on) into a 66 Chevelle and did quite a bit of tunnel modification to get a good fit.

66 CHEVELLE

Definitely not the modifications chevelles have to have but I will need to cut a place for the shifter and most of the top of the transmission(about a 5x12 inch hole.
I took it out so it's easier to work on for the most part

Looking good! Did you get a dial plate or will you be taking the Magnum front plate off to dial in the bellhousing?

Mc Cleod scattershield is foolpoof no messing around with dowels.
Recheck your balance. CF DF had good luck.
