66 Heater core bypass/shutoff valves ?

I dont want extra heat in the cabin in the summer heat.
Going to put some type of inline heater hose manual shut off valve or valves
and thinking a bypass so fluid still circulates.

What manual shut off valve/valves are hot safe and dont have a huge handle that some of you folks have used?

Any recommendations or pictures would be welcome.

Not big and bulky looking and would be placed inline close to the heater core.
Thanks

FWIW..Had a 6 cyl. 1966 Chevy G-10 van a number of years back, had factory installed inline shut-offs, really well done factory style. If you can locate one of these early style vans with a dog house between the seats that is still somewhat intact they are worth the effort. Assuming they haven't been made into Toyotas by now.

I have a 1971 ford F-250, it has a factory cable operated shutoff.

Can the pex ball valves hold up to the heat and pressure without having a blowout?
I do like the straight inline looks of some of them.

There is an electric valve that's part of the Vintage Air kit. I'm sure it's available at Summit among other places.

I plan to use a bypass valve like this one:

I know this doesn't apply to everyone but, if you have a LS swap you can't just plug the heater line, it will cause the engine to overheat, you need someway of sending the coolant back to the pump. This valve will do that.

Get on google and type in "cable operated bypass heater control valve" you'll get every kind of valve you can think of.

Just go to Lowes and get a 1/2" or 5/8" ball valve with a small piece of pipe and screw it into the manifold or water pump housing.. Shut it off in the summer. I once had a choke cable connected to one that worked like a charm....
