Heater control cables

I am at the point of installing my heater box and controls on my 68'. My original cables are broken at the plastic tabs, and i was wondering who sells the best quality replacements. Thanks, Terry

Re: Heater control cables

SPRSPT69, Thank you for the offer. I'm not certain the '69 cables will work in the '68, some catalogs are year specific, and some are'68-'72. I wanted to use new cables because i have already tried using 2 different sets of used cables, and the plastic mounting tab are so brittle from age they just break off, and the new cables iv'e seen have metal mounting tabs. Re: Heater control cables

Re: Heater control cables

Steve, I have not yet purchased new cables, decided to continue assembly without a heater for now. Terry

Re: Heater control cables

I used reproduction heater cables on my 65 Skylark and they were less than great. The lever movement is very stiff and I fear the control levers may break. I have been trying to locate some good OEM cables to replaces the aftermarket parts.

Re: Heater control cables

I got some reproduction I think from OPGI, Year One or Ausleys and they worked fine. Make sure all your other stuff works I had to get my control panel moving better on mine. You think it is a cable issue and it is something else. On my 1965 getting the level/cable angle right was very important in getting it to move freely.
