Unless it's a Fremont, CA-built Chevelle it won't have a conventional 'build sheet' as one thinks of a 69-72 style build sheet. You'd need to find a CHASSIS BROADCAST COPY sheet. This will have the engine suffix code on the third line of the sheet such as EH on this partial example from the Reference CD. Finding a CHASSIS BROADCAST COPY sheet is rather rare though - usually glued to the inner fender and destroyed over time.
