FED UP with Ads

What re you guys running to block advertisements on your Macs ? I just will not take it anymore...stuff creeping across the screen when I am reading something, ads that jitter and shake off to the right side of what I am reading / looking at. The whole freaking onslaught of crap finally has pushed my button.

Enough is enough, I have tolerated this invasion of BS far too long.

I don't even car if I have to pay for a blocker, the advertisement invasion is ruining my use of the computer. BTW I am running Chrome as my browser.

Thx

Re: FED UP with Ads

You won't see ads if you pay the dues. I think I paid $35 for life.

Are you referring to this site specifically or general use?

No this site is not bad...I can live with it as it is. That said thre are a lot of sites I visit that just plain BOMBARD me with junk I have no interest in. Look something up @ Summit and that product appears on screens on other sites the next day! It is just way to pervasive and way to invasive.

Re: FED UP with Ads

I don't know about a Mac but using windows what helped a lot was going through the settings on Chrome and checking delete history on exit and some other things I don't remember offhand now.
If you look at anything that's for sale with chrome, it wants you to look at it again and again and ag...

Running CCleaner also helps.

Now on facebook, anything you want to read is completely full of ads and they make it very easy to accidentally click on one.

Can you used Adblock on a Mac?

https://adblockplus.org/

Some sites don't like it when you use an ad blocker, mostly news sights.

Re: FED UP with Ads

https://getadblock.com/ This should work with all browsers.

This will work to block all adds on you tube if you are running chrome. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...hmhepckk?hl=en

I run both, Add block plus is another good add blocker.

Re: FED UP with Ads

I use adblockplus on everything. And almost every time I go to a site and it detects adblock plus, I just close the page, wasn't real important. But some I go to deliberately, I will whitelist the site.

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

CCleaner has changed ownership and with it changed its operating format. Check the test reviews.

That seems backwards, becoming a supporting member takes the ads away for you.
Flag owning members do not see all those ads on here.

It still works to delete the Google Chrome history that keeps bringing back up old stuff over and over that I've looked at previously.

AdBlock Plus is your friend. If you are using Safari (I hate that web browser, by the way), there is a version for that, too.

AdBlock Plus for Safari: https://adblockplus.org/ad-blocker-safari

AdBlock Plus Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ifddb?hl=en-US

And if you are using Firefox: https://adblockplus.org/
