Re: Malware bytes question

I've been using the free version of CCleaner with all the boxes checked except passwords for years and as far as I know it doesn't have a registry cleaner.

Re: Malware bytes question

CCleaner says it does.

Just checked. You have to open the registry cleaner separately and then run it. Just did it. Now I'll have to see if anything changed.

Don't think I've used it for 14 years. No problems using it.

By golly you're right. I checked and my free version does have it.
I always right click on the trash bin and run CCleaner so it never had anything to do with the registry. I didn't know it had all that other stuff all these years.

Task manager (Win 8) says cpu usage is at about 5% , so that is not the problem. I noticed that Internet Explorer is now dead, but Chrome still works ,but is really slow.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
It might be time for a new computer, so maybe this is a blessing in disguise.

Re: Malware bytes question

Try this - https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
It's not the malwarebytes program you think ,it's in addition to and made by Malwarebytes.

Also have a look at Pc Matic home -it's free too.

Yeah ,I've not used any reg cleaners for a few years now.
Had some issues with Win7 and Advanced System Care and decided to just not chance it.

Like I stated earlier in this thread - use it at your own risk. Nothing to be gained, but a lot to be lost.
