On my 64, the top "hinge" is riveted directly to the vent window frame, thus the rivets had to be drilled out. Sounds from rusty66 above like newer models have screws not rivets.
Getting my gasket into the "V" at the front of the frame (toward front of car) was nearly impossible without a little lube.

283v8. I am not quite sure I read this right, but my top hinge is welded to the window frame. The rivets I had to remove are used to hold the lowest rail. This had to go before I could remove the vent window.

Re: Vent window weatherstrip

Mark,

Not to be a pain but if you could foward that article to my email [email protected] I would appreciate it. I am in the process of replacing my vent weatherstrippng only. I have the Body by Fisher manual for my 67 Chevelle 4 door sedan, A body type, but it only shows how to remove the vent not how to remove and reinstall the weatherstipping. It also mentions some kind of adhesive. Is there a special one to use? I have a can of Permatex adhesive. Would that work?

I appreciate the input.

Mark
