I have asked this in the past, as well as a few other guys, but i'll post it again and see if i get the same reponses... On a 69 Chevelle or el camino SS, is the panel between the front bumper and grille ALWAYS black? I seem to recall seeing some of them painted body color, but i've been told its my imagination. Does anyone have an original paint chevelle or camino with a filler panel that ISN'T black? My garnet red camino has this panel painted body color, and i'm trying to talk myself out of taking the front bumper off to paint it black, but if thats the only correct color, then i guess i'm gonna do it!

On every "correctly" restored and unmolested survivor '69 I've seen they are black.

I will make an educated guess and say that it should be satin black, to match the panel between the tail lights.

Definitly semi gloss black/satin black same as rear body panel between tail lights.

"Semi-Gloss black"..... and..... "satin black" are two different colors.
Does anyone know the correct color ?
