when going from drive into park the # 9 fuse for the battery fuel pump and computer blows when you get to neutral. The fuse does not blow going from park to drive. Could it be the neutral safety swith . Just trying to get some leads because I have not been able to work on it yet. Any help before I start would be helpful and hopefully save me some time, maybe someone else had a similar problem, thanks
Not sure what's on that circuit so only guesses. One thing to do is replace the blow fuse with a test light. The test light won't make the circuit work. What it will do is light up the light when the short appears. Saves blowing out a ton of fuses.
Found on one car it wasn't the shifter causing the problem, even though it appeared to be. It was me stepping on the brake while shifting that was really doing it. Problem was in one of the brake switch circuits.
