69 Elco wipers come on then off at random.

I have a weird issue with the wipers on my 69 El Camino... Every now and then the wipers will start then quickly retract.. I cleaned the switch, ran a new ground wire to the switch and cleaned the ground tab at the motor.. I also sprayed the contactor in the motor with CRC..

You may have the very rare option of intermittent wipers.

The problem was the little spring that keeps the contactor arm closed... I used an old distributor advance spring, no more haunted wipers...
