Where to find sheathing?

Hello

I am working on the rear wiring harness in my 68. Wondering if there is a suppiier that sells the sheathing that looks like the factory style?

thanks

If you mean wire harness tape, then there are 2 types typically found in the trunk, the first being the typical non-adhesive wrap found all over the vehicle the wiring;

I'm sure you can find it cheaper if you look, this is for your reference.

And the other type being similar to "gaffers tape" which has a gritty feel to it as it is a tougher adhesive backed tape that was used in areas where the factory was concerned about damage from chaffing--like rear side marker lamp feeds on some cars where a suitcase or tool might try to snag them.

Re: Where to find sheathing?

If it's a plastic type of slotted tubing, you might have to search for that possibly off of a donor car.

Here's the plastic tubing wrapped around the taillight wiring on my 68 Chevy II Nova:

There are sections of the harness on my car that have the smooth wrap and in some area's a wrap that has like a cloth in it.

Re: Where to find sheathing?

Tony,
Muscle Factory sells harness wrap like the OEM type. It is non adhesive. Hope this helps. Happy New Year! Clyde
