Factory Tach not working w/Mallory Unilite 501 Distributor kit

When i hook up Mallory 501 conversion kit, SB engine starts runs great but factory tach is stuck on 800 RPM does not move. After installing now I've read stories about petronix and mallory distr conv kits not working well with factory tachs. Is there a work around to get tach operational with these kits?

Contact Mallory. They make a tach filter for their products. It is needed in series between the wire to the tach and the ignition unit/distributor.

Thanks Donny, i contacted Mallory techline they said use pt#29074 Mallory Tach adapter.

I ordered one from summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ma...34RHA7tR3w_wcB

Hopefully this is the solution i guess ill try to mount it on the inside under I/P somewhere and report back on how well it works.
