horn relay

Hey guys, need some quick help. I,m in Houston until Sunday so I,ve been buying like crazy from O,Reilly's. I think I need a replacement horn relay so I ordered one, but the only two they got were either 4 or 5 pin spade connection, mine has these connectors but also withwhat looks like a 1\4' stud and nut with a large orange supply wire ????.
The cars a 1972 350ss.

1972 Chevelles' have a unique horn relay. There are 2 spade style connections for "in" from the interior horn button(s) and "out" to the horn(s). They no longer contained an warning buzzer for the "key minder". They have a threaded stud to provide a junction for the power distribution as well as providing the (+) connection to the horn relay itself.

You can stop looking, as no one makes a proper replacement relay that I know of. You may be able to repair your old one with parts taken from inside a similar relay.

Thanks guys, I have disconnected the A/c so can I use a normal 4 or 5 spade relay and blank these threaded post wires off ?

Huh?

What does your A/C have to do with this project ?

Are you asking about the horn relay or the blower motor hi-speed relay?

If you are indeed talking about the horn relay I provided a link to, you can't just "blank" off the wires on the threaded post, they must be tied together at some sort of junction as this is the main power distribution point for the car.
