Stereo wires

For the life of me I can not find the wires for the stereo. What are my options here? Can I wire them in?

Re: Stereo wires

Are you talking about the Yellow, Gray & Black plug behind the dash? You will still need to run a constant Batt. power wire if you have a modern radio or nothing will store when you turn it off.

You could run your own wires from the fuse block if you can't find the harness behind the dash. You just need a wire from the Batt post and one from the IGN post on the fuse block. This will run your constant power (I recommend a fused wire) and 12volt switched. Then ground it and connect the speakers and it should work. Beyond that, the gray wire in the factory harness is for the backlight so if your radio dims when you turn your headlights on you may want/need to connect this. There is a bulb that illuminates the heater controls that you could splice into if you want but I believe any gray wire behind the dash should work.

Re: Stereo wires

Thanks for the help. I can't find the harness so may have to wire it in. I will have to dig around farther in there and see whats going on. The wires are a mess up there.

If your car is a factory 2 speaker stereo, that is an entire, stand alone harness and is separate from the main dash harness.

Ya know I'm not sure. It has speakers in the package tray and on the kick panels but they are prob not factory. The dash also has two speakers it appears but I haven't pulled the dash pad off yet. Going to do a bit more digging and see what I can find.
