Newbie with 2 quick questions regarding AC wiring

Good Evening everyone- I am reaching out to you once again as i am finishing up the rewire of my entire car...I purchased the Classic Update Kit from AAW ( love it) but i did not purchase the AC harness as the car has a brand new one from another company...So here is my question...

Does the Orange wire on then engine harness that goes to the blower motor connect to the in line fuse wire from the AC harness before it enters the firewall? ( My car has factory AC - 71 Chevelle Malibu) I think that with factory AC the orange wire isnt used but i cannot figure out what other wire would possibly connect....

Second while i have your attention - the directions say to apply silicone sealant after installing terminals..What is the name of this sealant and can you buy it at any of the chain part stores? I have applied Dielectric grease between the connections in the bulkhead and the engine side and I am assuming the silicone sealant is that black sticky stuff?

As always, thank you for everything each of you contribute to this forum. I really could not have done this without your help...

Jeff B - truly a NEWBIE - knew absolutely nothing about cars at all - learning as I go. Thanks in advance for your help and patience.

Re: Newbie with 2 quick questions regarding AC wiring

One quick answer-
Don't use silicone on any wiring connector, the chemicals in it are corrosive and will cause problems. If you're looking for something to seal the bulkhead connector, use 3M strip caulk, available at paint & body shop supply stores.

I can't answer your 1st question, I don't know much about '71 wiring.

Good livin' will speed it up, but it's worth it.
