'75 el Camino Fuel Gauge - needs repair

On my '75 EC SS, when I drive it, the fuel gauge changes levels quite a bit, going around corners, starting, stopping, etc....

From what I remember, there is something on the gauge that delays the signal so it does not do this?

Anyone have some insight?
