wire above heater box?

Any body have any idea what this blue wire (photo-WITH WHITE ARROW), goes to? Not the wire I am holding in my hand.

It dissappears behind the heater box. I do not see a location on my new SS wiring harness to plug this into. It has a black factory style plug on it. Unfortunately it is one of the few wires I didn't mark when I took out the sweep dash loom.

My orange, yellow and gray wires plug in on top of the heater box with the factory harness, no problem.

There is an orange gray and white that is for a console extension, but the one that plugs onto the heater resistor is a light blue, orange, and yellow. There should not be a blue wire that I can think of off by itself where you are describing, and there isn't one in you picture. What am I missing?

x2.. can't see it. Trace it back and see where it goes. There isn't much on the passenger side of the dash except the heater resistor plug, the white wire to the right dome light switch, and the orange wire to the glove box light.

Only thing dark blue I can think of in that area might be a rear seat speaker wire??

Authentication and pre-purchase inspection service still available. PM me for more information.
Still looking for that elusive 76 Nova SS.

Re: wire above heater box?

Thanks for the feedback. It might be a speaker wire that is a good thought!

I have attached another pic to try an show the wire. (its a poor picture I know). The wire is just above the carpet!

OK, I think Dave hit the nail squarely on the head! That is probably the rear seat speaker wire. I was thinking that it was part of your new dash harness that you were trying to install. I believed that was what you were asking and I could not think of any blue wires over there that were loose.

Good thought and eye Dave. I did not see it in the first photo.
