How hard is it to remove & replace a under dash wiring harness on a 67 SSS 396 car that has no gauges, I'm getting ready to do this for a friend & have never replaced one in a Chevelle & are the new ones labled as to where the idiot lights go? The wiring in it as of right now is in bad shape with melted wiring & a lot of stuff not working like heater, dash lights, etc. The car will discharge a fully charged battery over night, the under hood harness look good, also the car at idle shows the gen light, it goes out once you start driving, the alt checks out good at a Alt repair shop, could the regulator or horn relay be bad too, I need any help I can get on this. thanks in advance

Changing a dash harness is not dificult. The wire color for the lights are marked on the back of the cluster. Dale McIntosh has a web site. Chevelle stuff on the web, . There you can find 67 Chevelle wiring diagrams. What also helps is having an assembly manual.
