SS dash water temp gauge

I don't think my gauge is working.

It's a new gauge, part of a dash conversion. There are four posts coming out of the back of the gauge.

I know the driver side post is hot. All the other test hot as well, although the top and bottom light up less than the driver side and passenger side posts. If I ground either of the side posts with the key on, the gauge goes to extreme low and stays there. If I ground the passenger side post with the key on, the gauge goes to extreme hot and stays there.

Should the printed circuit board be fastened to the gauge to all four posts?

Am I getting the right readings off the posts?

And while I'm at it, I don't think I'm getting the right readings off the gas gauge. It doesn't move whether it's hooked up to the sender wire or if I ground it.
