Hi all,

I have an old Stewart Warner mechanical temp gauge that is broken and wonder if it is possible to repair it?

The cable going to the sending unit broke in two and is it possible to get another mechanical temp gauge and replace the cables, out of the new temp gauge and into the old temp gauge?

Kent..

Nope, the "cable" is actually a sealed tube that is charged inside and once broken it looses it's charge.

I asked this same question, and now I'm wondering if I could have replaced the aftermarket gauge "face" with the Stewart Warner "face". Just have to bend the housing apart and swap out the guts. What do you think?

Re: Broken temperature gauge question

I also have a SW greenline guage set in my 67 wagon.

I replaced the temp guage (although it was "broken" I don't recall what happened to it). I still have the guage and would like to use it, but...

Can these guages be repaired? who would can do it?

We thought swapping faces on a guage was a good idea as well. Any resolution to this, 68Phoenix?
