Tach lead thru the firewall question

70 Chevelle SS manual with factory tach

Where does the brown wire come thru the firewall normally?

The prior owner had it running to a 6AL under the dash and I'm returning this back to the way it was from the factory... at least this part

There should be a hole above the gas pedal, on the flat area below the wiper motor. Ill post a pic when I get home tonite. Hole is 3/4".

Authentication and pre-purchase inspection service still available. PM me for more information.

Cowl induction should be in a hole at about 45 degrees northeast of the dash mat retainer hole.. if you have an automatic trans, there's two holes by that area...

Re: Tach lead thru the firewall question

THis is an early KC L78 car with 4 speed, tach, and cowl Induction. THe hole about an inch and a half above, and just to the left of the accelerator cable hole, is the tach lead hole. The hole straight to the right of the accel. cable hole, is the Cowl Hood wire hole. Early cars had them up here at some plants, later they moved straight down about 2-3 inches to the vertical flat surface.(and just to the right of the dash mat retainer hole.)
