Headlight switch not working - '68?

Just installed my dash with all new switches, and is seems the new headlight switch doesn’t work. Did I miss a grounding strap that went from the dash to the gauge panel or does the switch even need grounding? The 68 switch is such a pain to get to! Any ideas guys?

Re: Headlight switch not working?

No headlights OR dash lights?
The switch itself does need a ground but does not need a ground to turn on the head/tail lights.
Check for power at the dimmer switch

Grounding/mounting plate for wiper and headlight switches, a strap from the plate to the rear of the dash cluster, wire from there to the parking brake bracket for ground.
Is the dimmer switch mounted and wired?

Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
Good livin' will speed it up, but it's worth it.

Grab a test light see if you have power going in and out of the switch. The grounding of the switch has no effect on the headlights or taillights working.

If you need room to work, pull the front seat so you can do so in more comfort.
