Re: 6014 Headlamp

I thought a quick search online would get the answer. I got page after page of nothing but ads selling headlamps of various types. That is pretty weird. Did you get those bulb numbers from the CIA?
The only thing I did find was a wattage rating of 60 watts for high beam.

Re: 6014 Headlamp

I was just looking for the standard 6014 bulbs but all I could find was the 6014 C1 which most likely will work . I did a google search for the difference also but just got ads for sale as well . Then I found a pair (6014) on ebay but the fitment chart says not for 1971 Chevelle , so now Im really confused .

Try searching for 6014 sealed beam headlight. I found a bunch of them.
Itís a 50/60 watt lamp.

6014 is an industry number, not a number limited to a certain brand or year of car. A Chevelle would have come with Delco branded bulbs. In 1971, you would have seen 6014 Delco branded bulbs that had the POWER BEAM logo on the box and the Power Beam logo in the center on of the face of the bulb. Be cautious, since Delco did sell later production 6014 bulbs labeled with POWER BEAM on the box, that did not have Power Beam logo on the glass face. I made that error a few years ago when I bought a pair of still sealed NOS Power Beam bulbs.

Re: 6014 Headlamp

Chevelles have always been plagued by dim-ish headlamps. One of the more popular ways to brighten them up it to install relays to power the lights.
I've done this on all my vehicles, makes a noticeable difference.

Here is some excellent information:

Re: 6014 Headlamp

Drop-in Warner halogen headlights. Much brighter with no mods.
Low beam headlamp H5006 or H5006XV XtraVision Halogen 35 Watt - The Brighter Light
High beam headlamp H5001 or H5001XV XtraVision Halogen 50 Watt - The Brighter Light

I have the Low Beams ones on my 67

Direct plugin as the old dim ones

Next is to install the 2 HL Wireing Harness I bought so they get direct power from the Battery/Alt

For 4 HLs you would need this Wiring Harness
https://www.jegs.com/i/Painless-Perf...30814/10002/-1

They are not cheap but are easy to install onto your HL Bulbs and into your current/original Engine Harness
so when you pull out the Dash HL Controller it will turn your HLs on with Full Power to them from the Battery

Re: 6014 Headlamp

If you are simply looking for a brighter bulb, replace your old 6012 or 6014 with a H6024. Sit down. You're done.

Re: 6014 Headlamp

OK so Is It safe to assume that #6014 Is the correct original bulb for a 71 Chevelle and Is there any reason a 6014C1 bulb wont work ?
