1967 Chevelle SS 396

Looking for my dad's first chevelle. Sold new at Middleton and Dunn Chevrolet, now known as John Jones Chevrolet.in Salem, Indiana. Butternut Yellow 396 350hp, four speed, and bucket seats. I have tracked the car to 2002 in Columbus, Indiana where it was sold by a person named Dan Parrigan. This person also has the VIN, but chooses not to share. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 1967 Chevelle SS 396

Good luck with your search. If it made it to 2002 there is a good chance it still exists. I love those wheels and how the car sat in the pictures.

Was the owner from 2002 willing to give you any information such condition, color, pictures from the time he owned it, where the person he sold it to was from? I wouldn't give up trying to get his help, with luck you might be able to change his mind. Have you sent him copies of the pictures you might have, especially any with you and/or your dad with the car?

I sent him every picture I had with him supposedly sending me the VIN in return. He didn't hold up his end of the deal.

Hey Steve, when you said Columbus I knew there was a good chance we work for the same company, sure enough it's a small world, although I do not know him. How long has it been since you sent the photos? I don't mind sending him a note seeing if I can help but would like to have all my ducks in a row. Any more proof it was your fathers car?

I posted an ad on the Columbus Craigslist about a year ago. He responded by saying his uncle had purchased a butternut yellow 1967 Chevelle SS from a guy in Salem, In. in the early 70's. My dad confirmed he had the only one in town. We then exchanged a few emails and that's when he told me he still had the VIN. I told him I would send him the pictures I had in exchange for the VIN, he agreed. Well, the last email I sent him was in December of 2014, with no reply. There's a slight chance it's not the same car, but with it being the only one in Salem, chances are pretty good it's it. Thanks for any help.

Any more contact from Dan Parrigan? I wonder why he wouldn’t share the VIN?
