70 Gold Nugget

I tried to save the pictures in your first post and all I get is one picture over and over, it will not save and/or print any of the other pictures that I click on. Any idea what do do here? I sent you a pm asking if you could email them to me.

Thanks
Larry

Re: Bench to Bucket Conversion Diagram

I finally got the pics and some notes e-mailed to 'lkt1954' aka-Larry.

Also, my neighbor is working on a 67 leMans for one of his customers, and I took this opportunity to go over and cross check the measurements I came up with on my own, with measurements on the Pontiac.

The Pontiac had the same type (4-piece) brackets from the factory, and the measurments on that car came out to be nearly exactly what I came up with (no dimension over 1/8" difference)

Just thought anyone who may be questioning MY placement of the brackets would like to know for sure.

Re: Bench to Bucket Conversion Diagram

This couldn't have come at a batter time for me - I just finished up welding the brackets last night and it went great. Thanks for posting the pictures and measurements - they worked perfectly on my 68 SS bench to bucket conversion.

Re: Bench to Bucket Conversion Diagram

I did my '71 with the info of another TC member last year, found some pics.
I mocked up the seats with the tracks in place and brackets bolted loosly to the tracks and using the one existing bolt hole we use and square off the seats with a straight edge (I used a 6' level) I then tacked the brackets in place, removed the seats, welded the brackets and reinstalled the seats to be sure everything lined up after welding. The measurements were correct by the quarter inch and seats line up perfect.
This is some info furnished to me previously.

Re: Bench to Bucket Conversion Diagram

Here is a great piece over on the Buick site but it also applies to Chevelles since they are all A-bodies. This piece has photos with measurements... http://www.buickperformance.com/buckconsole.htm

Re: Bench to Bucket Conversion Diagram

Bryan I am in the process of installing my new refurbished bucket seats in my 70 Chevelle which originally had a bench seat. I have all the same brackets as you show and they are positioned the same way. My problem is that my seat sits much too high and I can hardly get in even with the seat moved back all the way. I even have a smaller diameter steering wheel than stock. Do you or anyone esle have any suggestions as to what might be wrong?
