6 x 9 in package tray

i have a set of pioneer 6 x 9's that i want to put in the "package tray" of my 70 chevelle. there's nothing there now but some vinyl probably with some board under it. what do i need to do to be able to put the speakers in. thanks(new at this)

If you look under the panel in the trunk you will be able to see if the metal is cut out for the 6x9s. You have a couple of options here. You can use the same package tray and cut it out to fit the 6x9s and then use the grills with the speakers or you can buy a package tray that has the mesh in it where the speakers are and you won't need to use any grills and the package tray will still look flush with no speaker grills. You will also need to run some speaker wire from the radio back to the trunk for the speakers.

the metal is still there when i look from my trunk. so ill probably just cut out both the metal and the package tray to fit....how much does a package tray with the mesh in it run incase i decide to go that route
