'68 Console Color

Wer all '68-'72 A body consoles black, or would they have been the color of the interior, red, blue gold etc? My Caprice has Ivy Gold interior and a gold console.

Re: '68 Console Color

Color should match interior. I think white interior had black console.

Re: '68 Console Color

My 68 seats and console that I bought were both blue. The SS has a black dash but I think the console was still interior color. As stated already white interior had a black dash and console. And the BIG surprise is if you had black interior everything was black

I got a green console from a 70. Luckily I was smart enough not to paint it black when I stuck it in my el camino. I pulled the buckets and console and stuck a bench seat into the el camino and there was a guy restoring a chevelle with a green interior and needed a green console. jim

Re: '68 Console Color

It varied with the year. In 68 I've seen black, blue, red, and saddle.
783 Saddle buckets got saddle console.
796 Red buckets got red console.
774 Blue buckets got blue console.
All others (786 gold, 757 teal, 766 black, and 794 parchment) got black from what I can determine.
