Re: Procar Rally seats, anyone?

I ended up going with Corbeau, but before pulling the trigger I did sit on a Procar Rally. It was VERY comfortable.

I agree, I say in one and really thought it was comfortable. I also think it is a nice mix of modern with a bit of old school.

Re: Procar Rally seats, anyone?

I own them. They are significantly stiffer than stock seats, which tend to make you sit a bit higher. That could pose an issue to some with headroom when wearing a helmet.

The bolsters are what I really like. They won't hold you in if pulling really high G forces. Need a better seat, or a harness for that. But for spirited driving they are great, and for sure much better than the stock seats.

You will save about 40 lbs over the stock buckets. That's a positive.

The look really matches classic muscle.

I recommend.

That's good to hear Chris. No worries about a helmet , no track time with mine. I was looking at the TMI covers, but think I may be further going with the Procars.

Re: Procar Rally seats, anyone?

Have a set for my 64 daily project, mocked them up for install (without carpet and padding) and really like them so far. They do sit a bit high so I'll mount them at the lowest setting (3 heights available in the brackets) as I was in the highest setting for mock they were a bit tall. I wonder if a 6+ foot person would have an issue even at the lowest height??? The mounts could be modified to lower them another 1/2" if need be (64 mounts, others may not).

Re: Procar Rally seats, anyone?

I have had the Procar seats for a few years now. I love them. They hold me in the seat well and look period correct. I am a tall guy, 6'4", and I feel like they sit low enough that I still have head room.

The only downside to the seats is that they don't fold forward far enough. The side bolsters get in the way of folding, but I think its a small price to pay. When my kids get in the back seat there is more than enough adjustment in the seat tracks to give them the space to get in, just not enough with folding alone.

I have the Procar 90 seats in my 70, I like them very much. The 90s have a more classic look to them which is what I wanted. I set them to the lowest setting and I have no problem with headroom.

I put these in my Monte Carlo after seeing pics of yours. They look correct for the car, and i was able to mount them really low to the floor, where as my bench must have been re done at some point, and even for a short guy, put me sitting too high up. i also felt i was too close to the wheel, but too far away from the pedals, and i managed to fix all that too.

If it means anything to the OP, i have the procar 90's in my Monte, and Corbeau's with bolsters in my Camaro. Even though the Corbeau's look like they shouldnt be comfortable, they are. More so than the procars, which are just a little bit stiffer, but not uncomfortable, if that makes any sense. For the price, im not sure the procars can be beat.

Pat,
Not sure if you are aware but they make a Rally XL seat as well. It's a little wider. Have heard a few say the standard is on the narrow side.

There is a place here in Harrisburg called CJPony parts that is a dealer for Procar and has their seats in their showroom. I will slip out and check them out. If they will match Summit I could buy the seats there and then just get the mounting brackets from Summit.
