Window Tube "donut" thingy?

I am looking for the donut looking gasket/foam that goes on the tube assembly, window guide. One is degrading in my fingers and the other is AWOL.

What is the car model, year, and window? I don't recognize that assembly.

1972 Chevelle SS (2dr coupe) front window. The image in reference is the "closest" visual I could find in the service manual.

Re: Window Tube "donut" thingy?

I've never seen those sold separately but they can easily be made. Here is a picture of 1 from Hot Rod's window installation article.

Should be a Heavy felt, you can make one if you have a couple different sizes of hole punches.

Re: Window Tube "donut" thingy?

Ok, so I will raid my wife's crafting stock and get in a bit of trouble!

What is the purpose of these things anyways?
