66 el camino bench seat.

I'm sorry if this has been posted before. I have a 66 el camino with a bench seat. The previous owner was very large and ripped up the metal part of the drivers seat back. I know the seats changed, but I don't know the years. I have found a 70 seat. Is the frame the same other than the headrest? I have a TMI bolster set up, to fit a 66. I really want to use It. Thanks for the info in advance. Was the year change 71 maybe as far as the foam?

Alright , I found that the seat frame is pretty much the same with the exception of the headrest, and the seat back latches. Thanks

You are correct, 71 is the year change, the design of the upper cushion changed.
The model years prior to that- Prior to that they are dimentionally the same and covers will interchange.

Just a word of warning on those TMI big bolster bench seat covers... I had a HELL of a time trying to make one of those work, in the end after many hours I gave up.
I could not figure out how to get the cover on the upper cushion while securing down the listings for those huge bolsters...

it must be possible because they are still selling them... but just go in with your eyes open.
I would sure like to see pics of one that has been completed by someone thats NOT TMI themselves.

Thanks for the info. Its not what I wanted to hear about the TMI part, but the frame part is good. I plan to tackle it this winter. Just came across a decent seat frame for a reasonable price. Thanks again.
