Re: The cost of buying a Chevelle going up, up, up?

What confuses me most about this thread, (read the whole thing) is how people talk about 68-72 prices.

I looked for a 70 for almost 10 years before I settled for one I could afford, and in my experience the 70 sells for a whole bunch more than any 68,69,71, or 72 in similar condition. If I had been willing to have any of these other years I could have bought 3-4 in that same time peroid of searching. I notice on the boards here there seems to be a similar preference for the 66. So what say you. are these years worth more, or is it a phenomonon in my area only?

70 Malibu
came with seized 350 ci
came with turbo 350
10 bolt open
stripped and gutted
beat with a crowbar or hammer
Run headon into god knows what
original frame bent to ****
missing front clip except rad support & hood
no bumpers
Finally found a 70 I could afford!
