I just got these in the mail today and I’m not so sure about them. They are felpro vs12869t. I have a set of new aluminum heads and a set of fabricated aluminum valve covers. Will these gaskets be ok? Should I use any permatex no 2 on them? Thanks for any help.

I'm using a set similar but the blue Moroso ones on 3 vehicles. Aluminum heads FAB valve covers and no leaks. I sealed (Permatex Ultra black) the bottom of the gaskets to the heads in the rear outer corners only. That's the lowest point in the head and where the oil usually drains back to. Just a thin layer to keep from weeping oil.

I believe the OP's gaskets are a stiff plastic with the sealing surface(s) stuck on it. They go flat when tightened down.

As they're stiff plastic, they won't squish out even when over tightened.

They're made to be used dry but I'd coat both sides with Permatex High Tack. I put that siht on everything!
