Re: 302 Chevy Build

Is this going to be a 302 with steel crank and the old style 302 pistons.
Or some modern pistons and a killer cam???

Re: 302 Chevy Build

If it's going to be a revver, what are you going to run for a damper?
I love these types of builds, thank!

It is my son, and its his project. He's going to learn to make something out of nothing. He would like to put it into a 68 Z/28.

Hi Mark, if you're "chasing" HP I would try to talk him out of any Icons, if you're not "chasing" HP it's no issue!!

We actually move a bunch of the Icon's during any given year, but NOT when were looking for "max" HP numbers!

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Back in the mid 70's we had tons of experience with these "small" type builds, but they weren't pump-gas units. Just about every one we did the machining for went on to hold a bunch of NHRA records. If I recall correctly they were all 287" to 327" builds?
