trw 7053p and 188 heads

I bought a 454 engine for 800 dollars complete this last weekend.I figured the heads would be close to what I paid for whole engine and its came with a team g intake roller rockers etc.It had a 7053p trw piston in it and these a for a closed champer head.Has anyone ran this combo before and if so whats the compression and any problems.I didn't see where anything was hitting and they used a normal felpro gasket so nothing thick to get clearance..Would love opinions on it...thanks in advance

Trw 7053 pistons are the same as Speed Pro 2349's or LS6 replacement. If you use a closed chamber head the compression will be a high as 11 to 1. You may need race gas at that ratio.

I was actually going to put the open chamber 188s back on it.I was curious if anyone has run something like this and what kind of compression they had.I think the 118s are somewhere around 119cc

That piston and head combo is about 10:1 compression. Basically the OTC LS-6 crate engine.

Joe, I ran that piston with a set or 049 open chamber oval ports. No issues.
