Ok well it looks like if Sleeper is correct on the compression ratio with this combo on the engine. It should be a good pump gas engine. I would think it should make good horsepower with a nice cam say 240 duration .600 lift, it has roller rockers on the heads now so I may not have to put a whole lot of $$$ into it to make a nice engine for my 65 resto mod

I’ve found a set of what the seller says are LS-6 pistons in good shape. Can anybody shed any light as to what these may be compression wise with a 118cc chamber head.

Ok I finally found some info on these pistons in the How to Hot Rod Chevy Big Blocks book, turns out they are .030” over size bore forged and should be 9:1 compression so a lot of what you guys posted here was damned close. I’ll put the thumbnail here for anyone else who may ever need the info.

This is correct. The casting/forging number is not necessarily the part number. The automobile manufacturer may have more than one supplier for a particular part. The forging number on this piston identifies the details of that part, but a piston supplied by Sealed Power will have a different part number for the same piston sourced by TRW, Dana Corp., etc., etc.
