...and it wouldnt be a "hot" miss as the OP reported prior to the FUBAR points, its be all the time.

Not to be a jerk, but I had to buy a points replacement on the fly, and picked up a Pertronix LS. Only issue is a red wire to power it. Otherwise no one will open the points door to check.

Points? Damn. Replaced them w/Pertronix 3, 2 years and 12K miles ago on my stock/original 283, haven’t looked back, never an issue, sitting in my original Delco distributor.
