I'm no expert, but even what you think is clean air still has lots of particles that will add to the wear of your rings and cylinders. A filter of some kind would be a good idea.

Yeah. This is "Earth". There is no clean air. (Unless it's been filtered.)

I was going to say, how many performance/race vehicles don't have any filter.
