Re: Wheel & Tire Database: please fill in your info

Not to pick on anyone but this database is for owners to post their current wheel & tire combinations with the hope it will help others. If you have tech questions about tires and wheels, please ask them in the forum.
Thanks.

Cheveezy, send me a pm. Maybe I can help you.

Re: Wheel & Tire Database: please fill in your info

‘68 El Camino SS.

Reporting only on the rear at this time, as I still haven’t addressed the fronts.

I just removed a set of (likely) aftermarket chrome 15x8 (9.5" TW) rally’s with 4” backspacing and 275-60R15 tires. Those just barely cleared the non-rolled fender lips and there was a full 2" of clearance between the inner sidewalls and the frame rails.

I just installed a set of Weld Prostars in 15x9 with 5.5” backspacing.

The tires are Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S 295/65R15.

They fill the wheel wells very nicely with about 1" of clearance between the front of the tire and the front of the wheel wells. Side-to-side, there is about a fingers width both between the outside of the tire and the stock fender lip and between the inner sidewall and the frame rails.
