Re: Weld Draglites lug nuts ??

The lugs do use washers and because of the thickness of the wheel center you either have to go with a longer lug or replace the studs with longer ones. The lug should engage the studs by no less than the stud diameter. I had a set of Weld Draglites and later a set of Rodlites and I put longer studs in the rear axles on my Camaro

Here's a few pics, 295/55r15" MT DR next to 255/50r17" radial, had about 1/2" between tire & 3" exhaust at the closest spot

Re: Weld Draglites lug nuts ??

if you cut a lug nut lengthwise, you'll see how small amount of metal there is where shoulder meets the shank. That's why I swapped to 3 inch studs on my 70. jim

Re: Weld Draglites lug nuts ??

The ones you ordered should be fine because your studs sit inside the wheel hub. If you had long studs the stud might bottom out on the end of the stud threads. Another thing you will notice about the Weld Wheels the center section will squeeze down a bit because it seems like the inner core of the center section looks almost like a spacer.

Re: Weld Draglites lug nuts ??

I just ordered a new set of McGard lug nuts for my Weld Pro Stars. They are made in the USA. Beware of the Chinese knock off lug nuts. I stripped out a few lugs last time I went to the track when I was swapping the drag radials. The part numbers for the front lugs 7/16'-20 closed end are 63015. The rear lugs 1/2"-20 open end are 63004. Good Luck
