Tires and rims

The car I just bought has 255/50/17 on rear and 215/50/17 up front.I would like a little more meat out back thinking 275/40/17 or go back to 15's 225/60/15 up front and 275/60/15 out back.Any opinions would be appreciated.I know this subject is like beating a dead horse but .........

Re: Tires and rims

I've got 275/40/17 at all four corners on 179.5″ wheels with 5 7/8″ backspace. It's really close as I wanted the same size and the ability to use any wheel at any position. If you want a front and rear set, you can go far wider in the rear. Front is about maxed out, and I can't imagine fitting more, but less makes fitment easier. If your body is not centered on the frame, you might see differences in clearance left to right which can make a difference. Test if you can before you buy everything. Some shops will let you test fit.

Re: Tires and rims

If you like Nitto tires, they offer a 275/50/17 NT555 G2 that is about the same diameter, as a 275/60/15.

Re: Tires and rims

I am a stickler for Cragar SS Wheels. I know, how original. 15x10 with supersport tires.

If it's not broken, let's fix it till it is.

THAT is the look I love, not my first choice of wheel, but I do like them, and I love the size, and tires.
That rear is perfect!
