What pressures?? - 235/60/15 & 255/60/15

Hi all

Just put 235/60/15 fronts & 255/60/15 tears on my AR TTII’s

They are on my 69 Chevelle 2dr post car

Question - what pressures should I run?

Thanks all!

I should say it’s running a 350 HO crate and has AC...

I usually run the tire pressure listed as cold pressure on the side of the tire. If they ride too hard or firm, drop down about 5 psi. Keep an eye on your tread wear, if the center tread appears to be wearing faster than the edges, drop the pressure a little more. If they feel squirmy or the sides of the tires are wearing faster than the center thread area, I'll bump up the pressures.

The pressures listed on the side of the tire are for max load, not everyday driving.

Re: What pressures?? - 235/60/15 & 255/60/15

I usually always run tire pressure close to the MAX pressure on the side of the tire but since those tires are over sized for a 69 Chevelle, I'd say probably around 28-30 PSI

IF the vehicle still has factory stock tire size, I go by what it says on the door sticker.

Thanks all for the replies

As they’re not standard tyre sizes for the car I’ll go with first hand experience running these from Bill and see how I get on

Cheers

I have those same tire sizes on both of my cars. I like to be in the 30-35psi range. Anything lower than 30, the sidewalls seem to squat a little too much. And anything higher than 35 seems to make the ride 'harder' going down the road.

Re: What pressures?? - 235/60/15 & 255/60/15

I don't have the same size tires on my car both front and rear. In the rear I will normally run 28 psi in my 275-60-15 tires. In the front I will normally run 32 psi in my 205-75-15 tires. The reason I run 28 psi in the back is to get better bit with the tires and the reason I run 32 psi in the front is because the tires just seem too flat with the weight of the motor on them at a lower pressure.
