71 18" rim fitment question

Hello everyone. I checked the data base on wheel fitment and narrowed it down to what one of our members has with a 3" drop. I just want to hear any suggestions or issues you might have that I don't. I would like to purchase and install in stages when ordering the parts starting with wheels then brakes then suspension. I have a stock 71 with drum brakes all around. I want to add F&R 18x9 5.5 back spacing with 245/40/18 F 275/4018 R. I will be changing the drums to 4 wheel disk so will that change anything, will the oem lugs match the new disk conversion kit or the lug spacing will be different on the kit. I am looking at 12" caliper kit.(not sure what kit yet) then I would like to add the umi suspension kit stage 3/4/5 still looking into which one but the kit will lower the car 1". Also the kit includes taller spindle/ball joint, will that have an affect on anything.
thanks for the help

The drop shouldn’t be an issue or the disc conversion. The only problem I see is a 245 /40 will be a stretch on a 9” wide wheel. The 275 will fit perfect, I’m running 18x9 on my rear with 275/40 and it fits nice

A 245/40/18 has a recommended rim width range of 8"-9.5" so that size will work fine. If desired, you could also move up to a 255/35 or a 255/40.

A 9" wheel is considered the minimum width, for a 275/40/18 tire.

I run a 245/40/17 on front. I wanted the staggered set. My front wheel is a 17x8

On my '69 elky I have 18x9"w/5-1/4"bs with 275/35-18r in the front and in the back(60"rear) I have 295/35-18r mounted on 18x10"w/5-1/4"bs.
Some wheel manufacturer's measurements(forgeline) are measured from the inside of the lip where the tire bead sits. That would make them 18x10 and 18x11 (outside).
