1970 Chevelle SS Wheels

I have the original wheels for my 1970 Chevelle SS 396. The car was manufactured in late Sept or Oct of 1969. Looking at the stampings by the tire valve I have the following on two wheels.

Wheel 1: MI with a small 8 below, 5 22 YA
Wheel 2: M4 with a small 8 below 10 8 YA Note: The 4 in M4 is difficult to read could be an I

My first question was there more than one plant that manufactured the wheels?
Second question is could the Baltimore Plant had a mix matched inventory of wheels is stock when the car was built?

If I'm reading the stamps correctly wheel 1 was manufactured in 1968 on May 22nd YA is the correct 70 model year code.

Wheel 2 was manufactured in 1968 on Oct 8th YA is the correct 70 model year code.

Yes, the was more than one wheel manufacturer supplying wheels to GM.
Yes, a plant received wheels from more than one manufacturer.
No, it's highly unlikely that your wheels were made in 1968.

The "inside" of the wheel will be stamped with more accurate and useful data than what's by the valve stem.

The inside of the wheels are rusty and difficult to find stampings. Wheel 1corrected which now reads MI with a small 9 below 5 22 YA. Wheel 2: M4 with a small 8 below 10 8 YA. I sanded the paint down to get a better read on the stampings by the tire valves.
