Hi there!
I'm new here.I have a 66 el camino my dad bought back in 67.2 owner car.
I just did hotchkis tvs suspension and now I'm going to do a 4 wheel disc brake kit.Im thinking 18 inch wheels front a rear.I would like to find pics of 66 or 67 el caminos with 18s on for a reference. Post your picks please.

Well I'm doing some brakes.
Drum to discs all the way around.
Everthing is done except lines and booster assembly.

Re: 66 el camino with 18s

Here is a couple of pictures of a 65 with 18s. I really wanted 17s but I had to go with 18s to clear the Corvette Z06 calipers in the front. They're 18x7 in the front and 18x8 in the back. I also wanted 8" in the front and 9" in the back but, with the standard over-the-counter Torque Thrust II back spacing the rears rubbed on the outside. To get the back spacing I wanted, I would have to special order and the cost was out of my price range. The tires are 215-45 and 225-45. When they wear out, I will replace them with 50s or, maybe even 55s to get a little less low profile "rubber-band" look.

Re: 66 el camino with 18s

I know it's not a 1966/67 but here's my 1965 El Camino with 17x8 front and 17x9.5 rears. Tires are Nitto 555 245-45ZR17 front and 285-40ZR17 rear.

Here are some photos of my friends beautiful 66 elky with 18" Coys. The rear are 20" with 18" fronts. The company does not make 19". I thought it looked so awesome, I bought a set for my 68. My 68 has 18" front and rear. If I were to do it over, I would have bought the 20's for the rear. I love the look of these Coys wheels. David at Coys is a great guy to deal with. I had bought my wheels and tires from them and had them shipped mounted and balanced. David knows what back spacing you will need and what will fit. You can check them out at coyswheel.com

Here is a photo of how they showed up at my home. Coys did a great job packing and shipping them.

I think you chose wisely, those 20's look way to big on the rear.

Wow!
That black 66 is gorgeous.
About how much did they cost ball park?
I think 18s will be great all the way around.
Appreciate your responses.
Both cars are great.

Yes, his black 66 is gorgeous. He has many show trophies for that car. I think I paid around $1800 for my set of 18's with tires mounted and balanced. That also included the shipping. I was real close to selling my 68 SS until I bought my new wheels and tires. I'll never get rid of her now.

I'm adding disc brakes to the car now.
Front and back.
The kit will let me run 15s but I would like to show off the calipers some and get some better performance oriented tires.
To help out the hotchkis kit I just put on.
I'm thinking 18s will be just right.
