Question 2013 GMC 3/4 ton P/U DEF heater problem

Does anyone know about a fix for this problem ? It seems to be a common problem with these late model trucks on both Chevy and ford but I don't have any experience with this problem.Any and all help will be appreciated.

You are correct, it is a pretty big problem in the Duramax world. Read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that the heaters were on nationwide backorder but don't know if that has since been remedied.

You can always go full delete and get rid of the DEF along with all of the other emissions stuff.

def fluid needs to be heated when cold temperatures so that it can be injected properly to pass emissions guidelines.PITA ,most places wont let you remove them and pass inspection.Still gives trouble up to 2018.Was just a bandaid solution since it was implemented.

How can you go full delete ? My cousin just spent almost $300 on a new part for that.

You might try over at www.fullsizechevy.com, some over there give good advice. Good luck!

Best bet is to look at used tanks on eBay. We throw them out here in Florida as it is grey area ok to delete (no emissions)

Land of Bon Jovi and The Boss? Not so much.

But one reason to bail on Jersey. When I did the delete on my 2011 DurtyMaxx got me 18.5mpg around town and would DESTROY the 35s at will.

I did a local guys 2014 dually a couple few years ago. He delivers boats. He got popped in New Jersey for the delete and was hit with a $1000 fine. Kinbda ate up the savings on his fuel bill.

Head over to DURAMAXFORUM.COM.

Lots of threads there where folks have deleted their trucks.
